Default Bronze and Whitemetal Royal Signals collar badge.

Can anyone tell me anything about this collar badge?
My Guru does not have one on his excellent web sight, and I cannot find anything about it in Headdress, Badges and Embellishments of The Royal Corps of Signals.
The book tells me that Royal Corps of Signals officers serving with the Shanghai Defence Force Signals, wore a right hand collar badge on their fur cap. The badge illustrated in the book does not look bronze.

Default R. Signals

Is it a dirty GM & WM Other ranks collar badge, worn around 1926 to 1946?

Stephen.

G'day Stephen, no mate it is bronze. Having said that, I have had a few Australian badges that looked bronze until I cleaned them.
You may be right. I will wait and see if the UK collectors know anything about it.
Phil.

I think Stephen is correct, show the reverse of the badge and if it is die-struck it is a dirty other ranks collar badge IMO.

I am somewhat embarrassed, I have cleaned the badge and yes it was a dirty ORs badge.
What I am more embarrassed about (when I thought it was bronze) is the fact that I have been looking for the other collar badge and the cap badge.
The pitfalls of badge collecting.
