My sad little pair of 9L collars (each with four lugs).
Not quite a matching pair, but matching damage. The only 9L cap badge that I have, a Victorian crown four lugged one, also has the lance tips broken off and missing. Last edited by leigh kitchen; 22-06-18 at 09:26 AM. |

Rank and file Delhi spearmen wore white metal collar badges on their Home Service Full Dress until it was withdrawn in 1914.

I don't think I've ever seen any rank and file die struck collar badges in anything other than white metal, when you say "ceremonial" which uniform and period are you talking about?
Home Service Full Dress was worn on both mounted and dismounted parades and on a daily basis by some members of the regiment prior to it's withdrawal, the collar badges were very fine die struck white metal and not silver, the Victorian examples, being particularly pleasing. 9th collar
yes home service full dress I have often seen the bronze ones in OR,S tunics in collections and wondered why they would have Bronze as none of the other rank and file did this or may be another difference for a SNCO perhaps ?

That does sound rather odd, to wear such collars on that particular dress, seems a very contradictory practice.

Four lugs would be somewhat nicer!

9th collar
My 9th tunic only has 2 holes north south. The condition of the tunic is stunning a real surprise buy.

There appear to already be badges upon the scarlet collar!
