Default 1ST ARGYLL VOLS

Hi all

Saw this on Ebay. Wanted to know what the members thought on it's validity at that price.

Thanks John.

I was curious, as I saw one I think on Cultman's at 100 pound. It says the size of the badge is 60mm x 70mm, so I imagine the roundness is due to a bad pic.

Thanks for the comparison pic. You confident you have a good one there.

Simon.

Hi Simon, and John,
My example is in white metal. I'm curious about the brass versions.
Cheers, Tinto

A well know expression that contains the words barge pole springs to mind:

I would have thought a reasonable estimate for a genuine example of this badge would be £80- £120.

Hi PB, you mean the one you posted from that seller, or do you also mean te one I posted in the link above. Tough to tell if it is brass.

Simon.

Simon,

I was really referring to any brass example of this badge. When a number of examples of any scarce badge appears on the market to me it raises alarm bells.

Peter

I wish someone had one to know if they were in white metal and a brass. In the description the seller said it was painted black. Wasn't this a "Rifles" thing to do; have them painted black.
I did a search and as I said Cultman has one in white metal.

Simon.
Also, anything posted by that seller should be avoided like the plague - or with a 1000 ft barge pole.

In my humble opinion, of course.

cheers,

Andy C
