Default RAEME Officer or OR

This badge arrived today along with 2 REME badges, bought at a very reasonable price from ebay UK. From the pic on ebay I thought it might be made in statbrite, but it is metal and finished to what would be regarded in the UK as officer quality. Not being aux fait with Australian badges, would this be the same, or are all Australian badges made to the same standards? Measures 28w x 45h mm with 2 x clutch fixings. Thanks in advance.

RAEME Officers and ORs all wear the same badge.

Default RAEME King's Crown Collar Badges??

Hi all, Years ago I saw a king's crown RAEME uniform and the collar badges were the same as the hat badge (i.e. same size) which led me to wonder if a king's crown Australian collar badge in the smaller size was ever worn in Australia. I recently acquired a pair of KC small size collar badges (not anodised) which of course do not have any lettering but wonder whether they were worn in UK only not in Australia. Any comments?

Hi Colin,

Those collars without lettering sounds like they maybe are REME instead of RAEME.

Mick. Thanks for that. Up to now I have only collected REME, but I may extend to Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Interesting point raised by Kingsley. Are collars worn by RAEME, if so are they the same design as REME? (I appreciate different manufacture etc etc). Also, whatever the answer, did the same apply to the KC brass badges? Last of all, does New Zealand follow Australia or do they have their own set of badges? (I appreciate that the cap badge would have NZ and not A).

Hi John,

The RAEME collars are opposing and are just smaller versions of the hat badge.

Won't he difference between the collar dogs of REME , RAEME and RCEME be the map on the globe as it's different on the badges?
