Default Rare Royal Artillery Gun Surveyors badge in brass or Railway tat?

Can anyone confirm this is the rare Royal Artillery Gun Surveyors brass badge and not part of a railway/transport title?

Badge has hex lugs, but the VERY unusual thing is the lugs are made from white metal?

I tried to confirm this badge as the real deal some time ago but I was unable to do so. An example sold instantly from the dealers web site with in minutes of listing.

Thank you in advance gentlemen.

Badge measures: 26mm x 17mm

Hope it is not a Salvation Army collar badge.

Looks very similar (see attached pic) But there is a pattern to the centre of the badge. I`ll think you might be right as I now recall some white metal attachments on salvation army badges....but need to confirm with a trade badge collector.

Have a look at a real gun surveyor badge........follow the attached link. Its a tricky one isn't? it

Perhaps Grumps has one in his collection we can look at?

Default Surveyor RA

There are three on this board from my album. The middle "S" in brass looks like yours from the front but has two conventional looped lugs.

mine have looped lugs in the normal material. Without a sealed pattern who can say which is/are official issue?
