Tigerlily: At last, I see a brooch similar to the one I have!

About 5 years ago, I found the brooch at a small antique store in Dublin, Ireland. The shopkeeper knew nothing about it, but I bought it anyway. I'm just now finding the right websites to learn more.

I had it appraised in NYC and was told the body was lead and silver with 10kt gold plated and paste diamonds. There are no markings. It's obviously a special piece, so I would love to learn more.

I still feel the "need" to look after Mr Garrard for you!

He crops up for sale now and then and isn't terribly expensive. Not £6 but not a remortgage job.

I'll see what I can find down the back of the sofa in a kind of crowd funding gesture.

Well there is a contentious debate, if you were only able to buy one more badge what would be your swan song?

Lots of NF things I'd like, although I am planning on "looking after" Mr Kitchens collection, so I should be alright there.( Leigh doesnt know yet)
I would be fairly happy if my last six squids were spent on the Household Cavalry. I have just a few nice Para things like the sweetheart and those funny little sand cast collars. And is it a nice Timings anodised badge I have? Been a while since I looked at that, I have forgotten, I go look... EDIT.... A nice Dowler and a nice Timings. I love those funny little theatre made collars too. I do have some nice things. A friend has been trying to persuade me to sell my militaria to fund a project car I'm after but I couldn't. Not a hope in hell.

What indeed, but, does this mean that you will not be looking down the back of the sofa with me in mind?

If I win the lottery tonight Frank I will treat you to whatever you wish. Back of the sofa hasn't offered up much so far I'm afraid.
