I completely agree. Footed lugs and misaligned text on scroll. I’d avoid

Dear Ryan, Thank you for the heads-up and kind response to my question. I also collect RE cap badges and looking for a Genuine KC III Officers and other ranks cap badges to include same variations for the RMRE and Jersey Militia.
Kind regards, Andrew |

As mentioned the wonky lettering, pock mark seeding and haphazard jewels in the crown are all tell tale signs it’s from a poor modern fake die. I’m yet to seen a RE Volunteers scroll badge in GM that I’d regard as genuine. And as for eBay, regularly a great source of badges provided one does relevant research and due diligence. |

As a volunteers badge pre 1908 I would much prefer a white metal one as that was the usual metal for a Volunteers unit of that period. There were always unit variations but Post 1908 the TF were in brass of course.

There are no official CIIIR badges available yet except those issued for the Coronation. The nominated manufacturer is Firmin Group. You will be able to purchase via EC Snaith (part of Firmin group) once released. RMRE will also be on EC Snaith. I’ve not seen or heard anything on the Jersey Field Sqn badge. Member JerMil is likely to know though. The only ones I’ve seen so far have been produced by Ammo & Co. These have been produced for the collectors market / PRI shops. They are of inferior quality compared to the official ones but depending on your attitude, may or may not be worth being in your collection.
