Default Royal Engineers - Shoulder Flash ??

Hi,

Please be gentle with a newbie .

Hopefully someone will be able to identify what I believe to be a WW2 period Royal Engineer Shoulder Flash/Badge.

Thanks in advance.

Sean & Mike,

Thanks for your posts, I am still awaiting Service Record to confirm his units within RE, but do know he was in 6 ReFuelling & ReArming Depot Battalion RE, if that is any help ?

Michael.

Sean,

Thanks for your reply, could you tell me where (upper arms/epaulettes) and how this would have been sewn on as a "diamond" or a "square".

I have searched the internet, and couldn't find the patch/flash, let alone how it was displayed.

Thanks

Michael.

Hi Michael
Here is mine from my album, it was worn as a diamond in the same place as most formation signs, beneath the cloth shoulder title.

Sean,

Thanks, that has clarified things for me, doing a memorial display for a friend of her father (WW2). Wanted to present things correctly.

Best wishes,

Michael.

Further to my original post, a new photo of the man in uniform has been found by the family, I am hoping someone can identify the unit ?

Photo has "Blankenburghe August 1945" on the back.
