Smile 43rd Monmouthshire LI silver NCO's badge

Hi all,

A recent pick up that I had not seen before. I believe it to be a pre-1881 43rd (Monmouthshire Light Infantry) cast silver NCO's badge. It has round loops to the bugle ribbons unlike the square shaped ones of the glangarry badge shown in K&K 493. It measures 40x37mm and has silver loops north-south.. I know that often there are post-1881 badges with pre-Cardwell reform numbers so maybe it is later.

I have been unable to find pictures of a similar badge in my reference books so would like to hear if members can assit with a more precise identification.

All the best, Dean.
