Default The Liverpool Regiment

An extensive search of a large antique market in Trieste a fortnight ago revealed this (hopefully extremely valuable) item. 100 Euro Cents changed hands and its now with me - and looking for a new home near Liverpool. Mike

After all Trieste was garrisoned by the British and US Armies for nine years post VE Day. Although BETFOR continued to wear the sign of British XIII Corps throughout, there was not a a leaping gazelle to be had for love or money in 2017. Mike

A lovely posting I would imagine, keeping order between the various factions.
At least the gazelles spring up all over the place here.

I have a nice little grouping of insignia to one man of 24th Independent Infantry Brigade, red Wings, leaping gazelles, & medics titles & lanyard.

Forgot the black cats.

An excellent grouping - for one man to own two NM Field Ambulance titles is outrageous!!! Mike

Ah, but they're a pair, which is how I like 'em..........
Backed with KD & with press stud fittings
Unfortunately they have no provenance to an individual, they were just grouped in a tobacco tin.

Thanks Paul,

Sadly not fishing but home now and I was shown one of these at the last MHS Holmes Chapel meeting and I think there was a previous thread on one of these.

Nothing to do with the Kings Liverpool Regiment.

Peter

It might be related the WBC inscribed LIVERPOOL REGIMENT that appears on e-bay every now and again. It might originate from Ohio !?

A previous thread is here - http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...rpool+regiment - although unfortunately the link to the ebay item is now out of date and no photo shows.

It would seem to be yet another fashion item.
