Default Any books about current UK Police insignia?

Can anyone recommend a good book/source for UK Police insignia, particularly cap badges and helmet plates?

I have found Facebook to be a very good source of pictures for the bigger forces but many of the smaller Non Home office forces do not have Facebook pages.

Any information would be most appreciated

Regards

Ron

PS What does the current pattern Mersey Tunnels Police cap badge look like?

Helmets & Caps, volumes 1&2, by Jon Weston, 2010.
Probably as good as you are likely to get.

Badges of Office, covers most of the badges, 1829-1989.
Amazon £48.

I have a new copy (two volumes) of "Helmets & Caps" by Jon Weston. If you are interested PM me. It is long out of print. If you "google" Mersey Tunnels Police there are images of their badges there.

Dave.

Don't touch Amazon. That's a totally out of this world price and nothing but a rip off. PICA (GB) have (or did have) new copies for a fraction of that price.

Correct, but, you have to be a member.

You don't have to be a member of PICA if you order it online but its more expensive.

Many thanks gents for your replies

Altcar, I did google the Mersey Tunnels Police cap badge and that is where the confusion began! One of the versions had a Queen's Crown and the other had a stylised crown with MT on it. Both looked like modern construction. Unfortunately, pictures of officers they had on Google were not clear enough to see which version they were wearing.

The Queen's Crown badge is the current one.

My Goto source for those unfindable books is ABEbooks.com.

They have a very sophisticated search system and will save a search so that when a book comes available you get an email.

Mind you they are still searching for Percy Coriat's Soldier in Oman after five + years.
