Silver Eagle Royal Irish Fussiliers
Was shown this the other day and didnt know too much about it.
A presentation piece for a handful of Officers? Story goes it was made in 1948? I think it was sterling but havent the slightest what the value would be. Any help would be super! eagle1.jpg |

Unfortunately I know nothing about this eagle, but I like it.
"The first French eagle to be captured by the British was taken by the 87th (Royal Irish Fusiliers) Regiment of Foot from the French 8th Line at the Battle of Barrosa on 5 March 1811." Read more about it here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fren...aptured_eagles |
