WWI unknown colour patch
Does anyone know what unit this colour patch is for?
A lovely sharp image from a photographer in Pontypridd, south Wales Thanks.

Hm, tricky from that angle. It appears to be a 3rd Div ellipse, but the way it's divided doesn't quite add up. It could also be a distorted 4th Div AASC circle, divided diagonally blue and white.

I really appreciate you attempting to answer this from such an awkward angle. Thank you.

Always happy to have a go, Jerry. The more I look at it the more I think it's 4th Div AASC.

To my eye there seems to be straight base line at 90 degrees to the colour separation. Maybe a tall rectangular shape?

I tend to agree - so should we be looking in 5 Div (Infantry) patches? Mike

I'd go with that, diagonal rather than vertical division.
