Yes SCUBA Diver, the qualification opened up to the Sea Cadets in the 1980's.

They would qualify at one of the summer camps that they could attend,

At HMCS Quadra in the late 70s there was an actual 8 week scuba trade course. Interesting to note that the trade badge for blue square rig uniforms featured a double scuba tank. The one pictured above was for the green safari suit uniform introduced 79-80.

Actually the Integration of the Canadian Armed Forces were a boon to the cadets - at least to the Sea Cadets in any event - many more 'trade' qualification badges opened up to them in that post 1980 period when they wore that horrid green uniform Gino mentions.

They would get qualified at one of the summer camps that operated during the summer months - Quadra on the west coast, Cornwallis on the east coast, or the camp in Kingston, which I am at a loss to remember now, & no doubt others as well.

Bryan

Came back to me -- Ontario was the Kingston cadet camp.
