No concerns Frank just posted for interest sake as the S/F collectors may find it of interest? I must admit I put a bid in for this but way out of my league priceways!

Am not a Facebook member so link not working for me!
But there was concerns about this badge then.? The rear fixings remind me more for a belt buckle but admit they also are similar to a plastic Air Cadet badge rear fixings, so thought this was typical of Canadian Plastic Economy Badges? All the best billy |

Here are the images of the good badge (from Ken Joyce's book, Into the Maelstrom) and the one auctioned.
The Canadian Parachute Corps badges are the most sought after and one of the most reproduced Canadian badges. The plastic badge stirred some controversy. Here is an image of the correct plastic badge (from Ken Joyce's Into the Maelstrom) and a plastic badge making the rounds on the market. Note the lack of detail in the maple leaf spray on the obverse, among other issues. The back is the real revelation. Note the double plunger mark and its relationship to the indentations etc. Note also the depth of the indentations, shape of the cast lugs, etc.

Unfortunately the Polish wing from the same seller also raises concerns.
http://r.ebay.com/bwmcXp It looks cast from the surface texture of the wings which also have very rounded edges. The original wings were struck and are flat with fairly sharp edges. The number isn't clearly stamped compared with known originals and the 4s are the wrong shape. The wing sold for £466, a lot of money, but I would expect an original to go for more than twice that.

when one paid a half a crown ( two shillings and sixpence, twelve and half new pence ) for one you were guaranteed originality
