Sorry, meant to attach this to my last post. Comparison of badge on Littledean white SAS beret with 1970s NZSAS pattern badge.

Sorry to dig this up but I missed this thread. I have 4 early beige SAS berets all with vast amounts of provenance. They are all identical in construction and appear to be nothing like what was offered on eBay. The cap badges on these on eBay especially on the lighter coloured one are not even close to looking like the real thing. They are embarrassing. The yellowish colour stitching in the lighter coloured beret’s badge and the aging inconsistencies in the other beret are well off the mark.
If I had had even 50% confidence in these I would have bought them.
Someone has wasted a lot of money.

Further to my above post I don’t even think these are SAS berets. The brown leather sweatband gives this away. It should always be black leather.

The buyer has now left positive feedback on the 'white' beret three weeks after the event. Also a £2,000 ladies fur hat with repairs. An eclectic choice!

If the battered fur hat wasn't taken to the cleaners, for that sort of money, the buyer possibly was...
