Default Lowland Regiments Badge Day

A recent acquisition, I thought this might be appropriate given the date.

someone else said they are having problems with that link - works every time for me -( it would wouldn't it!)

ANYWAY lovely album, like the 39th Royal Fusiliers post card - "Samuel P. Block"

discharge papers are online for him - sent to Egypt late 1918 , only entitled to a British War Medal. this guy Block was born in Vilna Russia Posted for duty from Boston Massachusetts. NOK - Father : Israel Block living at 325 Sheffield Street Brooklyn New York.

Samuel Philip Block was 20 in 1918 so the guy sitting arms folded I guess, but its hard to tell 5 foot 3.5 inches 142lb chest 35 inches - guy at the back in the middle

Any of your Northumberland Fusiliers cards have names on the back?

Those Egyptians must have made a fortune photographing soldiers in front of the pyramids, think they got most of the Egyptian Expeditionary Force - wonder if all the negatives have survived?

Here is one I have of two South African Officers, excactly the same spot- large photo not a postcard hence wider shot - mounted column in the background?
the chap on the left is 2/Lt Armand Henry John Bliss South African Infantry
sadly didn't make it - KIA in Egypt

Here's another photo of 2/Lt Bliss, showing the bambi in a porthole badge or whatever they call it.

Anyone know what finish/metal this is 'cause it doesn't look OSD to me? I would like to get an identical matching WW1 vintage badge to keep with these photos at some point.
