A member of the Kodak ARP at their Harrow factory. Armband says 'Kodak ARP'. Complete with wound stripe and war service stripes.

The OSS and Wound Stripe look so out of place on that suit.

Great photo. Thank you.

What looks like, other RE or RF, SWB mostly hidden, SWB, ASC. Though my last attempt at viewing such small images was a total failure, hopefully this time I have done a little better.

Nice photo, Scotch. Thank you.

That lapel badge does not appear to have any voided sections - wondering if perhaps it is not a Silver War Badge, but something else?

Thanks mate, I have a few cards with civilians wearing a stripe or SWB but added this one because of the mourning button.

Don't forget this was a period that was pre the general ex Service uniform of Badged blazer and regimental tie. I think many men were just as keen to show the world they had done their bit as the modern veteran (with their lapels usually full of pin badges,) and wound stripes or overseas service chevrons showed anyone interested they had been at the rough end too.

Absolutely.

You can understand how they must have felt. The ol' white-feather-up-the-nose brigade didn't help matters either.

I think its a "For Loyal Service" lapel badge.

Thought this would be the best place to show this photographic postcard I have.

This Man is wearing what appears to be the badge of the Northumberland Fusiliers in his raincoat lapel.

Photographed and posted from Brighton, Sussex 18th, August 1919 and sent to an address in London.

Simon.

Hi All,

I've not come across the mourning button before, I'm assuming it's the blackened one, is there any story behind it?

Google talks about Queen Victoria and / or masters of fox hunts but I'm guessing this has nothing to do with that.

Search the forum for "mourning button" and a few threads discussing the black crepe covered buttons, black cloth diamonds, "Alf's Button" will turn up.
Apologies for not posting a few links to threads but searching, copying, pasting is a pain using my phone.

Edit - added a link:
