London Reg and others
Hi All
I just picked up these badges and would appreciate opinions on authenticity. I generally like them but with fakes these days I don't like to be over confident. They didn't cost too much, so no problem if they're fake. Thanks in advance. The 'residue' on the back of one is part of the sticky price label and the silver stuff on the Lancashire badge is something mysterious? Cheers, Alex |

Next one
I think this is genuine (appreciate confirmation) but not sure if it is a cap or a collar?
Thanks. Cheers, Alex |

Technically a collar badge but because the RBH cap and collars were the same size, I believe it was also worn as a cap badge.

Lancs Hussars:
Good - 7 stamen dots surrounds the centre dot. Loops in correct place, later badge with wide spacing between words Lancashire and Hussars Bad - ends of scrolls look messy. Seeding on scroll does not look right. Folds on scroll also do not look right. Conclusion: Inconclusive - keep hold of it as it may be a maker variation. Royal Bucks Hussars: No problems with this badge. It is the earlier type with the Swan having a flat neck and a smaller font than the later versions. Hard to tell from photo angle but check the loops to see if they are 'D' shaped. If so it is a collar. Garry |

Hi All
Thanks for all the replies, that's 20 quid well spent! The RBH lugs aren't D shaped so I assume it's a cap! Cheers, Alex |

I checked my later pattern collar (Swan faces right) and it does not have 'D' loops, therefore your badge may have been used for cap or collar. I agree with you, it seems £20 was well spent!
