Hi Herve, very interesting, I've only seen the Czech type with wire prongs or the British with lugs. I think it may be for a belt buckle or some ornament or then again it may just be a cap badge variant, but why the two sets of fixings? Sorry I can't give you a positive identity only what it isn't. If you want I can photo the two types of fixings that I have, best wishes Mike

Hello Mike,

Thanks, it would be interesting to show the various cap badge models and specially the ww2 british made one.

I have seen that pre-ww2 officers wore multiparts belt buckles... a place to start...

Best regards .. Herve

Hi Herve, here are some images. Bronze x 2; bi-metallic; one British, one Czech without swords; one British with lugs removed and slider added. Hope they are clear enough if you want other views I can take some photos in daylight at the weekend, best wishes Mike

Hello Mike,

Thanks for sharing your different types ... british production with lugs must be scarce. I should be happy to have one in my collection.

Unfortunately, no confirmations about the first shown... I really think that it is a part of a pre-war belt buckle.

Best regards and Merry Christmas .. Herve

hi,
this is a common pre-war Czechoslovakian cap badge (side hat for rank and NCO's).

also, a couple of British made Czech cap badges can be found in two of my albums here on the forum (Middle East and Free Czech Forces in UK).

single piece of wire shaped into a somewhat resembling the capital Sigma (of the Greek alphabet) letter. I cannot find a pic atm, but will post one when I do.
cheers,
s.
