2nd Regiment of Cavalry (Canadian Militia)
Hello All,
I am attempting to locate a line drawing, or picture of a helmet plate for the 2nd Regiment of Cavalry formed in May 1872. I believe they were a Hussar Unit with Dragoon helmets. Mazeas may have it in his book for pre 1914 badges but I don't have a copy and cannot find one. Any help would be appreciated. In fact if anyone has any uniform details on this Regiment it would be great! Thanks, Brian |

Hello Brian, Welcome to the Forum.
Mazeas does not have a line drawing of a helmet pate for the 2nd Regiment of Cavalry. The 2nd represented in Mazeas is the 2nd Dragoons of St. Catharines.

Hi Bill,
That would be the same unit, as the 2nd Regiment of Cavalry became the 2nd Dragoons in the 1880s. If anyone could post that drawing I would be very grateful. Thanks, Brian |
