M.G.C and Militia Buttons
A couple of Buttons that came as part of a group of insignia in the last year or so.. The Canada Militia appears much older than the M.G.C. which I assume is WW1. Not a button collector so comments are much welcomed. Thanks

Hello Irish
Your 'Canada Militia' button is a general service pattern with Victorian crown used between about 1855 and 1901. Your 'MGC' button was in use between about 1915 and 1929. Information from Eric Smylie's excellent book on 'Buttons of the Canadian Militia". Hope this helps. Regards Roger |
