Hi,
A Scottish ex-forces friend of mine has recommended 'Stratherne Mill', they do all the army/airforce tartans and he got a swatch book from them for very little. The swatches were around 3-4 inches square.... thy also hold stocks of older obsolete tartans. ATB, Tom |

Tartan Swatches for badge backs
J-F,
Try this - they do swatches and are very helpful. http://www.tartanstore.net/ I trying to track down a square metre of the 42nd (Goverment Tartan) - the good quality one, thick material and all wool (80.00 UKP). The swatches are better. David |

If you haven't found tartan swatches yet, I see The Mighty Atom has listed an assortment of swatches for Canadian/some British Scottish reg. badges on eBay. Government tartan is item 310121484223 and he has 5 or 6 others as well, which cover most Canadian regiments.
