Default 'Charles' Smith backmark?

Hi Gents,

Any comments on the Charles Smith 12 Piccadilly backmark?

Of the top of my head I don't recall seeing this one before. I don't think it is related to the Smith, Kent & Write company but could be wrong.

Any thoughts, comments always welcome?

Cheers,

Roy

Button Lines 64 page 11: Charles Smith & Son, gold lacemen of 12, Piccadilly, London, in the first half of Queen Victoria's reign.

seen on buttons:
C. Smith & Son, 5 New Burlington St., London
C. Smith, 12 Piccadilly, London
C. Smith, Piccadilly

Charles Smith & Sons operated from 12 Piccadilly from 1836 to 1859 (https://www.antique-swords.eu)
