Default Natal Royal Regiment Artillery - foreunner to NFA

Was rather pleased to get this buckle to the NRR Artillery. This unit, according to Owen was around between 1902 and 3 before being absorbed into the NFA.

Hi Mike,

very nice buckle. I was just trying to read up Natal Royal regt of Artillery but info is is a bit vague and scarce, which make the buckle equally so, I guess.

Default Some more NRR Artillery badges

Posting my two badges, the shoulder title has some glue substance between at both ends suspect this was how he used to display them?

I will one day attempt to clean this out.

I am in the process of transcribing the history of this small unit and will post when finished, it makes interesting reading.

How come they were "Royal" as I thought this had to be conferred on them.
Also was there a time when their badge didnt have a crown? Maybe when they weren't "Royal" ?

regards,

Iain
