Default Unidentified South African Badge

Hi all,
I recently came back from SA, while there I found this badge in a little back street shop, the owner did not know much about it, only that it could be South African, It was not cheap but it was interesting and it intrigued me, as it has the airforce eagle and a cannon on it, so does anyone out there know what it is??

This is an excellent find, these badges are not common!

It was worn by South African officers who had qualified in both air and artillery duties.

Worn from 1930 to 1936 in full dress, the eagle and cannon were in silver plate while other items were embroidered in gold wire. It was known as the "Amphigarious" badge.

Two of these have sold recently, one on ebay about 4 weeks ago (for about £85.00), the other on the South African Bid or Buy site, for not much more. So thats three in the last month or so....
