Lions head with wing?
Just picked this unusual badge and suspect it's military but can't find anything in my reference or internet.
Any ideas? Paul |

Badge
Not one that I have seen before but could possibly be either a Half Flying Wing of some Air Force or a jump Badge of sorts!
Good Luck |

Thanks for your reply.
I too believe it's related to some form of aviation. Regards Paul |

Not much use I'm sorry to say but the manufacture gives a hint of Middle East or Far East - Are the lugs of flattened metal? similar to Middle East (although I note these lugs have feet rather than being inset into cast), or is the lug metal rounded in which case I am unsure.

I have had one of these badges for quite a while. I was told that it was British Airways but can find no support for this. I should be interested to hear if you have any sucess .

I strongly suspect that it isn't BA related

BOAC steward's wing
This (I've been informed in the past) is a BOAC steward/stewardess' 1st pattern uniform wing.
I was a steward with the Corporation from 1970-76. We wore a bullion S in circle with a half wing on our uniform jackets. I don't remember seeing these metal ones at all. So they must be between 1939-70. Good hunting Alan PS We used to go to Sydney & Johannesburg, so the badges could turn up anywhere!! |

According to following website, it is an early c.1940's British Overseas Airways Corp. (BOAC) Flight Attendant Cap Badge

To those that helped solve this mystery thanks very much.
It certainly had me stumped so well pleased to finally identify it. Paul |
