Default 2nd Cadet Battalion but which regiment ?

I am fairly sure that these are parts of shoulder titles for the 2nd Cadet Battalion of an infantry regiment ( If I am wrong and they are for something else I would be pleased to know ). Presumably worn with a separate regimental designation below.

Nothing to identify them in Westlake or Rawlings but Rawlings 1547 is a one piece metal title 1/CB/Queens.

If anyone has evidence of a Regiment with a 2nd Cadet Battalion wearing this type of title I would be grateful.

Thanks

P.B.

Default Staffordshire Cadets

Hi Peter,
The only metal shoulder title, other than the one you mention, with CB in it, is for the First cadet battalion Staffordshire. It reads top to bottom
1/CB/Stafford.
I think it's in white metal.
I do not know if there was a 2nd battalion.
Worth some research?

Alan

Thanks Alan,

A possibility, interesting that 1/CB/STAFFORD does not have an "N" or "S" in front of Stafford which suggests it might be post 1959 which seems unlikely.

Peter

You beat me to these Peter, I wanted them on the off chance that I would also find out one day who they referred to and hope they turn out to be one of the regimentsd I collect.

Best bet is go through Westlake and see how many regiments had a 2CB to narrow it down first and hope for the best.

I've had a single one for years

Peter,

The Dublin Schools Cadet Corps had a second battalion as far as I know. Not sure if they worn this pattern though?

Regards,

Dave

Thanks Keith and David,

I was rather hoping that a member ( perhaps one who specialises in a particular regiment ) might have an example of this type of title, the Kings Liverpool`s had two Cadet Battalions at one time but there is no point in assuming that their 2nd Cadet Battalion might have worn this style of title.

( if I cant find which unit wore this type of title I could always put them on E bay as ultra scarce Kitchener's Army 2nd City Battalion titles - just joking )

Peter,

I have a nagging feeling its Canadian.
I have seen a reference to it someone, and if so, probably isnt 'C' for Cadet.

Try posting in the Canadian section, you never know.

The usual form for Canadian WWI badges - collar/shoulder - was 'C' over the battalion number, separated by a horizontal bar. I wondered if this might be for the 2nd Construction Battalion, an all Black unit, raised in Nova Scotia during the War, but it doesn't apear to be, from the photos of that unit I can find.

That doesn't rule out Canada, but I think makes it somewhat less likely.

Default 2CB

I have seen the 2CB sold on eBay with a BUFFS shoulder title. This does not necessarily mean that they go together.
