Default S Staffs slip-on

Hi, also picked up these. The backs are khaki cloth the same as the front. I've not seen this construction before, it's usually one or two tapes, does anyone have an explanation for this, thanks in advance Mike

Cool Slip-ons

Mike,

I really have no idea why these slip-ons were constructed in this manner as the normal titles have two tapes, I do have some like these and I think it could be due to wartime shortages, however I'm sure other members may have another theory.

Regards Rob

I agree, I think they are a variation due to a shortage of the tape at some time. I have a RAOC pair which like yours is a simple stitched back with raw edges top & bottom.

Hi Mike, I have heard this style of title called "a pocket" before, sorry but I don't know if that's an official term or someone has made it up. regards john
