Default Is this a pagri badge?

Hi All
I have had this for a while and just thought it was a shoulder title but looking at photos of pagri flashes I suddenly thought it might be one too. It came with a group of medals and other bits and pieces to a chap who was captured at the fall of Singapore in 1942, so definitely has the tropical connection.
Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks in advance. Cheers,
Alex

It's a pagri flash as these photos show.

Jon's second picture with the Vickers MG crew shows troops wearing the (practical and comfortable) experimental replacement for Service Dress trialled during the early 1930s. It included an angora shirt with a collar, an open necked jacket with bronzed non-polishable buttons and what was described as a 'deerstalker' hat. Of course it was rejected in favour of Battle Dress in 1937 although elements of the revised web equipment were accepted.

Thanks Tim, I was wondering about the odd uniform. Makes sense now.
Cheers,
Alex
