RAF PILOT WINGS
Hi just got a RAF LOT with 3 wings ,dogtags and cap badges but would like to know what period these badges/wings would fall under ?WW1 ,Inter war or WW2?

The top two pilots wing's are standard WW2 issue, the bottom one a theatre made item. As such its hard to pin it down but most likely WW2 also.
Likewise, the three cap badges are WW2 issue, the middle one a Warrant Officer which looks to be in brass (rather than gilt). The top badge is an economy issue which first began to appear in, if memory serves, April 1944. |

Could the wings with the pin be for tropical kit?

Thanks makes sense as I got dogtags to a officer DC ALLDERMAN 117931 who was in the RAFVR and is a DFC recipient with these badges.Where can I find out how he won the DFC?

How do you pin them down to India? Hand made wings were commonly made in North Africa, Asia and the far east, but being hand made I don't see a particular style relating to any one country.

Thanks so he was a Bomber pilot who flew in North Africa and Italy flying Wellingtons and Liberators by wars end with 70 Sqd RAF.

Recently found Derrick Cowan ALLDERMAN served with my great uncle in the Middle East on 108 sqn and some great info I have on his service .
