Hi milhistry,
I believe that the collar grenades with NZA on them were worn from about 1921 until the early 1950s by artillery officers of the NZ Territorial Force. I have them in gilt and blackened metal, I presume bronzed collars existed but haven't got one yet. The NZA and the RNZA amalgamated as the Royal Regiment of New Zealand Artillery in 1949 and the collar badges then had RNZA in the scrolls, with the normal overlap of course as old patterns of uniform were worn out. I think the other ranks collar badges for the NZA were just the universal grenade with no scroll until 1949 but happy to be corrected. Keith |
