ROYAL ARTILLERY POUCH BADGE
I wonder if anyone can help out with this. I've seen a Royal Artillery pouch badge , it has a seperate wheel and three screw posts to the rear, what would be be a good price to pay, it's up for £25, I though that was a bit steep! Am I right or is that what they go for?

hi
if it is like the two badge (WM and brass) of the pictures, i imagine that 15GBP is a good price. (25 GBP is expensive i think...)  cheers jp

R.Artillery pouch badge
Tony, I received one of these through the post today for just under £20 which included post and packing. In good condition with two out of three of the original nuts on the screw posts bought on our favourite online auction site.
It is really what you can buy them for. Rob

JP and Rob thanks for your replies, confirms my thoughts, too expensive for me.Though if I wanted it that much I would have been tempted. It's all down to what your prepared to pay.

I hope this finds you well ? I wanted to respond but at the same time I didn't want to look like a ' plank ' ! For £25.00p it would need to be ' mint ' and then some, I would have said £15.00 - £20.00 but if you wanted it badly enough, what's a fiver ????? Take care. Dave.

Hello Dave,
Although I collect only cap badges I took the plunge with this, from previous posts looks like I picked it up at a good price, seller caved in at £12.  Regards Tony.

Tony, despite what anyone says "cash is king", most dealers except rich ones like the readies enough to drop their prices, you did better than I did, well done.

Dave and Rob, I think your both right, a buyers market and cash is king.
One thing I've noticed over the last few months, the prices asked by general antique dealers are much lower than those wanted by specialist militaria dealers. In the past I always found the opposite. Anyone else noticed this change? Cheers Tony.

Generally yes, an exception at the Antiques Fair I went to this morning at Event City by the Trafford Centre, a dealer had a Lancashire Rifle Volunteers glengarry badge worth about £75-£100. I asked the price and he told me £240. Just pleased it was not a badge I was after and I have a feeling he will have it on his stall for some considerable time. Peter

I've noticed dealers with 'new stock' have inflated values on these items. They won't budge on price, give them a couple of weeks and the price is negotiable. Then again maybe the dealer paid too much on the first place. As you say looks like he's going to take a while to sell this item. Cheers Tony.
