Default Info requested on Brass sand cast LRDG badge

Dear Fellow Collector's

From reading older posts on here, (which are fascinating for the amateur historian's amongst us) may I ask.. is there such a thing as a original sand cast brass LRDG badge? Furthermore, when one show's up covered with verdigris is it considered by any of you to be a sign of a genuine wartime badge?

Many thanks

As a brand new member I'm still trying to navigate how this site works..etc.

Under the old post LRDG Cairo Made Badge 03/09/11 there are three very helpful posts posted by three very knowledgeable gentlemen...the first of which [photograph] is identical to my badge, mine being in a less worn condition. I would really like to know more as to whether it was purchased privately out of the LRDG members own pocket or issued? I'm guessing late war construction?

For some reason I can't upload pic's of my badge that I've taken (since purchasing my badge) saved from my computer. So here are the pic's from the auction. I hope the link works??

Thank you to those who take the time to comment.
