WTS Armband
Hi folks
Just received this armband, not an uncommon item it does appear from time to time. My question is who wore it? I have discovered there was a Women's Territorial Service raised in East Africa by Lady Sidney Farrar and they initially had a signals role in Nairobi during the war wearing brass WTS shoulder titles. Is this one of their items? Regards Sean |

Women's Transport Service
Does the WTS stand for Women's Transport Service...
"1938 the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry were asked to form the Women’s Transport Service, the initial Motor Drivers Company. Recruits were trained in motor transport, wireless telegraphy, codes or general duties." Maybe more common unit than a signals unit in Nairobi. Just a thought. Alan |

Hi Alan
That was my first thought but I have never seen any photos of the Women's Transport Service wearing the armband so started to look further afield. Cheers Sean |
