Smile A Volunteer collar badge conversion

Yet another simple but effective conversion by a Cambs Volunteer to change a three turret collar badge worn by the 1st Cambs R.V 1880-1887 into the two turret collar badge worn 1887-1908 by folding the central castle tower over.

I am always fascinated by the ingenuity of the Volunteers, who saved money by coverting insignia.

Officers QVC Helmet plates are often found with a KC conversion.

The Field Security Police, until they were fromed into the Intelligence Corps, wore the CMP badge with either the words 'MILITARY POLICE' removed from the scroll or with the scroll completely removed.
Commando signallers serving with Special Service Brigade Signal Section wore the signals cap badge with the oval with 'ROYAL CORPS OF SIGNALS' removed.
French para's wore the Parachute Regiment beret badge with the crest removed.
French Jedburghs wore the Parachute Regiment beret badge without crest, with clipped wings and with a US campaign star added.
