191 (Beds & Essex) Fd Regt RA
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WW2-191st....c100013.m1986
Interesting, to the best of my knowledge the patch was only worn on one sleeve not a facing pair and material and size looks wrong compared to known genuine ones. Four different bidders so far. Definitely not Beds and Essex though, 191 were Herts & Essex Yeo!! RA AOS badges look OK tho :-) |

Michael,
I agree with you, they don't look 100%, but the vendor is known to me as a member of the Military Heraldry Society, and so far I've never had cause to doubt him (but we all make mistakes sometime). I've attached pics of known repro version, and some others (including one of Jon Mills but I'm sure he won't mind) Stephen. |

I'm not sure what the politically correct term for fake is, but those in post 1 are not genuine 1944 vintage signs. This one is genuine. The CO's comment on the introduction of this sign - known in the unit as the "goat and cutlasses" - was "I don't suppose it can do any harm". Command endorsement! Mike

Paul,
An honourable thing to do in the circumstances. It will do your reputation no harm at all. Stephen. |

Stephen - thank you for the tip and Paul, thank you for your update: I had not made the connection with your eBay and forum user names otherwise I would have PM'd on the topic first. Like Stephen am also happy to to say that I have purchased from and had completely satisfactory dealings with you in the past and it was good of you to withdraw this listing.
Mike, interesting photo, thanks for sharing and I think supports that the badge was worn left sleeve only. FYI photo of my example attached which was ex Bosleys. Quite a different size of "goat and cutlass". |
