Default Chrome RAOC cap badge

Hi all
I have a question about this QC chrome RAOC badge, it is a standard cap badge size but has screw posts instead of lugs or slider.
Might it be a pouch badge for bandsmen or maybe stick orderlies? Or is it just off. A plaque of some sort?
Cheers
Sean

Could be a car mascot badge. Though most of the ones I've seen are flat backed.

My first thought was a belt badge but bolts are too long. My second other than yours was some sort of bandsmans headdress?

They were produced by Gaunt's for use on a car mascot badge with the bolts being cut back and ground after fixing.

There is a Gold/Silver example for the brass or chrome belt plate where the bolts are also cut and ground down. These plates can also be found with 'Collar badge' sized badges with felt backing and plate with split pin for easy disassembly & cleaning..

A further 'Bi-metal' example with a single bolt was produced for the Pipers 'Plaid Brooch' shortened with knurled bolt for removal.

I am sure these badges had other uses as well.

I have examples of all of the above in my collection, The Car Badges in both Kings & Queens versions of the badge with bolts! and a Queens Crown version unused like yours.
