Peter,
Its either the Kings or the Liverpool Regiment I assume. as for the 2nd I saw this and I realised straight away it was a fake because of the inclusion of Battery instead of a Battalion. Clearly a mix up in the language barrier between the foreign faker and the customer. If you delve into his wares he has other bogus ID bracelets also. regards

Simon,
Spot on, the title should be "The Kings Regiment " so the word "The" is missing and the title has been cut short. Actually there is a drawing in "Irish Regiments in the World Wars " by David Murphy on plate H which shows the Liverpool Irish wearing the cloth title "Kings Regiment" that is an error and the title in the drawing should be "The Kings Regiment " With regard to the ID bracelet, this reminds me of a Scottish sword that was doing the rounds some time ago, it was supposedly to a Liverpool Scottish officer except the etching on the blade made reference to the 10th V.B. whereas the Scottish were the 8th V.B. then became the 10th T.F. Battalion. I suppose it is a good thing for collectors that the makers of such wares are less than thorough with their research. Sorry I cannot provide a prize. Regards Peter

Magpie,
Still need to check that. The error in this 3rd item is pretty obvious : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kings-Live...kAAOSwQupXVLLg P.B.

As for the ID tag - the engraving looks period to me but as already mentioned 'Battery' is the obvious mistake and there's no evidence of a J Ogden with that service number serving overseas (no MIC), and no one with that number is on the SWB list. If there ever was a 90910 J. Ogden his service record was destroyed. Tony |

Thanks Tony, especially for checking J.Ogden. The third error is that the picture is nothing to do with Liverpool ,the picture is not the 7th KLR or even the Liverpool Scottish ( badges look like HLI ).

Remevmbea,
I don't think so, the difficulty is there does not appear to be any record of the man to see if your suggestion is a possibility . These errors in E bay listings continue: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1900s-WWI-...MAAOSwM4xXb6wQ The error is not the photo being upside down ! Peter

So the names are from men who served in the KLR but the photo isn't (I admit my badge knowledge is very poor) even KLR. Wow, sounds like a lot of trouble to go to unless a genuine printing error.
Just did a check on the number, it shows one man numbered 90910 (M McGrath) who served in the RA, none of the many RA J. Ogden's had the same number. His other ID tag is engraved in the same style, hallmarked 1914 and named to an officer who for some unknown reason has a regimental number. I know officers had numbers in WWII but don't know where to check them. Tony |

This looks like the photo of the 7th KLR officers - incorrectly titled!

Thanks Tim,
As Tony suggested a printing error with the pictures mixed up. Peter ( The last E bay error in this thread is a QE2 crowned Isle of Man Police ( I think , might be Fire Brigade etc) badge being sold as a Victorian or WW1 volunteer item )
