WM Royal Marines cap badge.
This mornings pick up a Liverpool fair.
Royal Marines WM cap badge, interesting 'sheet metal' lugs. I'm assuming this is to the Royal Marines Police. Cheese s Tony.

WM Royal Marines cap badge
Hi Tony
The Royal Marine Police cap badge was in white metal but it didn't have the crown - just the globe and laurel wreath. Pete |

Pete, thanks for reply thought that was the case although a couple of examples with crown are posted in the albums.
Cheers Tony.

As has already been said, the Royal Marine Police used the globe & laurels but the top of it was devoid of anything. There are quite a few photos about of the RMP both groups and individuals. All show the simple globe & laurels. Nothing else. I suspect that there is (somewhere) a written edict specifying the design of badge to be worn.
Harry Wynne (Rattlewatch) has researched the archives over a number of years and his publications do not mention any deviation from the norm. Dave. |

Try cleaning the back around the lugs, if the braze area is also silver then it's been plated.

I think that answers the question quite neatly with supporting documentary evidence. That said, if you follow what rattle-watch1 says in his books you can't go far wrong as he has already done the research.
