Shows your very good taste although your good sense may still be questioned.

No disrespect to those former members who have sadly passed away but I wonder if any now non posting members have gone off in search of the Ladies who , according to the adverts which appear from time to time, in the box at the right hand side of the page ,near the top of each page, are looking for friendship ?

But seriously I am sure that when I look at the number of members active on the Forum at any time compared with the much greater numbers of guests t the same time, a lot of former members have become the silent majority, looking at what is happening but not contributing for whatever reason.

Cool

I think its natural for collectors to tire of the hobby from time to time and step away. Almost everyone has a real life with more important priorities and other interests.

I think a lot of it has to do with "why" they became members in the first place. If it was just to get answers on a specific item, they usually are gone as soon as the answer is given. Those that are truly interested in the subject tend to stick around or, come back after taking a hiatus. I know my interests come and go, depending on time, money to spend on the "hobby" and what areas are of current interest.

Plus, sometimes you grow tired of the forums and certain members can make you ask "why am I bothering to spend my time here?" I think its natural. I've stepped away from various forums, some I go back to occasionally, some I am starting to frequent again and a couple I won't bother with anymore as I was left with a bad taste regarding one aspect or another.

Those that have more than a passive interest will usually come back, maybe not as actively as before but they tend to read more and contribute less. How many times can you answer the same questions over and over again?

Tim
