Default Opinions on Combined Operations Commando Patch

I took a chance on this patch as I was hoping it was a variation but am not sure. It is embroidered on very thin stiff material. I bought it yesterday at an insignia show in Hayward, California. It passes the black light test so I was wondering if this was an original patch or copy?

I have never seen an original embroidered onto material like that.

A new (ish) copy been made in the far east by a UK dealer -it is supposed to be the ` water proofed` combined ops sign that was worn on the outer clothing of Canoeists in such units as the C.O.P.P`s produced on a rubber / plastic type material ??

im told ......... the material used on these modern copies are cut up wet suits .......... hey ho

Yes, certain Far East repro I'm afraid. The messy back is just one giveaway.

Remember, the blacklight test is only useful on synthetic white fabric/cloth. Natural materials or others colours have no effect.
