Default 1945 SAS tan beret

I recently bought this beret in the US and I think it is authentic but would like your opinions. I've gone through the sticky and everything seems to match. Stitching, Kangol lettering (very faint but can still be seen), eyelets, WD stamp. Square flash is kind of unusual and the embroidery seems to say " Who Cares Wins".

Is this authentic?

Also curious about the dating. We're SAS still wearing tan beret in 1945?

BTW I tried to get photos of the Kangol Wear Limited, arrowhead, and Date stamp. They are very faint. Photo 4 shows Kangol Wear" and the arrowhead. Photo 5 shows the date of 1945. I hope they can be seen in the photos. They are pretty tough to see, let alone photograph.

The SAS were wearing maroon berets in 1944 and did not readopt their sand beret until 1956.

I thought the same. Recce Corps matches the shade far closer.

These were found more popular than the GS cap, you will find them with regular infantry by 1945.

Default SAS and SF

The SAS must have had millions in its ranks judging by the amount of stuff out there. ?

The badge looks like an uncut NZSAS one to me.

So is this authentic recce corps beret that someone put an SAS badge on? I guess I'm just trying to figure out what I have. I only paid $20 for it, so I knew I could take a chance that it was fake.
Thanks for the input!

I've attached a better photo of the badge. Is it authentic? Or fake?

This definitely appears to be a New Zealand SAS badge - original but from the early 1960s onwards. Definitely not WWII I'm afraid.
