crenadier gds or rm artillery

Does anyone know if this sergeants rank badge is/was worn by the Grenadier Guards, presumably on short-sleeve shirts?
the grenade looks more like the pattern worn by the Royal Marine artillery as a cap badge so perhaps there is a connection there?
any information much appreciated.
