5th London Pagri badge
I thought this might be of interest to some London mates (Alan O feel free to use in your album) Nice photo showing the FSC badge being worn on a Pagri, assuming the small band here is still classed as a pagri?? Nice pic anyway, unfortunately not dated!!

Any idea what the badge in the breast pocket says, or the inscription on that incredible trophy? Thanks for posting. JT |

Only words I can make out are WON BY on the trophy, the badge has what looks like 2 men standing but not that clear mate unfortunately, sorry,

Did the LRB serve overseas anywhere other than France?

The photo appears to be pre ww1, and taken in the UK, not overseas. Solar Topees were worn domestically by some outdoors clubs and the like. The style minus the typical Pagri is not what one would expect to see in India etc.
The rifle appears to be a small bore target model, possibly single shot; certainly not a service rifle. CB |

The rifle looks like a. 303 Lee metford with the long range sights on the left hand side.

5th London Pagri badge Reply to Thread
Hi All,
The guy is obviously a well known shooter, he has at least 3 '100' badges meaning he was in the best hundred shooters in the land. one seems to read 1900 (all were year marked) with regiment and years, his identity should be findable. I'm afraid i don't know the trophy, but just the size tells us it was pretty significant. Regards Mark |
