Default LON 5

Hi,

This is British WW2 Home Guard.
LON indicates it was worn by a County of London Bn. The 5 indicates the Bn's number.
I'm sorry but I cannot tell you which one this was, as the County of London covered most of Metropolitan London, including units in Essex, Herts, Middlesex, Surrey and Kent, plus units of the London Pasenger Transport Board (trams and underground).
Many people could find this badge a good home.

Stephen.

Many thanks for the ID. Why would a Home Guard title be sought after ? I would have thought that they would be fairly common given the number of men who were in the Home Guard.
Regards
Mike

Mike you would have thought they would be common but they are not particularly if you are trying to find specific county designations.
