Somerset Mess Waiters buttons ?
A new batch of buttons.
The top two are slightly convex single piece contruction, backmarked "FIRMIN & SONS 153 STRAND LONDON" & "FIRMIN'S LONDON" and measure 25mm & 16mm, but are they Mess Waiters buttons? |

Hi,
I have an example of one of these buttons in my collection which I always believed to be an Officers' Mess Waiters' button. Most (but not all) of the mess waiter buttons are single piece, open back and are representative of the civilian livery button. This is such an example and the different items that make up the face decoration are all from the old 11th Foot - Somerset Light Infantry. Regards Janner305 |
