Some more TOS badges
An officers cap badge and collar badges, the latter worn on the shirt collar points, dagger points outwards. Note that the pin fastener points up - and therefore doesn't stick in your forehead when you fall off your camel. Two OR's cap badges slightly different in size, one with a pin and the other with loops. The significance of the latter is unknown. They are much larger than the officers collars, I had initially wondered if the lugged version was a collar but it's clearly not. Anyone got a spare button?? |

would any members have an other ranks Trucial Oman Scout Headress Badge with a pin and clasp for sale or know of where to purchase one as I have been unable to locate one. This will enable me to complete my original headress from 1972

TOS Badge
These are proving to be pretty rare. If you are ex TOS you might take a look at http://www.flickr.com/groups/tos/pool/ and see if there are any old faces who might be able to help.
Please make contact if you have any photos that could be added to the collection. Peter Aitkens |

Hi Brian, I hear you have an excellent collection of Aden badges and insignia. I have been asked by Helion to do a reprint of The Armed Forces of Aden 1839-1967. Consequently I am rewriting the book, making some corrections, including a lot more photos, adding a little more information and a couple of new badges. Also have commissioned an artist to draw up 12 coloured pictures of various units. Hope Helion can include it all! Perhaps you have some information I could include?

Eddie, that Badge #2 (post #8) which you think may be a late TOS badge, is identical to that as worn by WO2 Wilson on the ficker pages (S.Sgt Tech And WO2 Techie). Not his headress badge, but on his belt buckle. I have one on my desk now.

Well he was the only Parachute trained RMP, I know, who sang opera. Please return the greetings. Get him to dig out some photos!

Hi Alan
Missed your post first time. Can't find the image of WO2 Wilson, but you may well be right. The problem is that the difference between the Omani NFR badge and the TOS one is a single Arabic word so lots of space for confusion. For HBL see http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...hlight=bedouin Eddie |
