Default Northumberland Fusiliers, Drummers badge

Hello all, please take a look at this item and let me know what you think.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/261550375626

The larger badge looks like Wood 418 with the flames broken off. The seller tells me that the slight indentation where flames might have been attached is 'smooth'. I guess he means there were never flames attached. I don't see any such 'flameless' badge in Col. Wood's book. Am I missing something?

The larger badge looks like a piper's plaid brooch, but at only 5.7 cm diameter seems to be too small for that.

Thanks Aad, It's not like any of the pipers badges in Col. Wood's book. It does, though resemble the ball part of a drummer's grenade badge. I guess there aren't too many NF collectors on this site, never mind, I shall not be bidding anyway.

Thank you again for your response.

Lawrence
