Not sure if its of any use, but I came across a picture of a gentleman formerly a lancer, and he became an inspector in the royal parks and is pictured with a similar badge, its at the loink below if you scroll down. I think someone mentioned royal parks too in one of the posts

The crownless GVR cypher has been attributed by Bosleys as a recruiters badge but you chaps certainly look like provost staff with those whistle chains.
What badge are the Norfolk Yeo ORs wearing behind their Bty 2IC? |

Another RDC soldier wearing a 1915 pattern tunic and a pre 1908 belt. The GV cypher is quite clear.

Norfolk Yeomanry
The NY are all bigger I’ve seen lots of postcards etc where the small cypher is offered up as NY but never seen a convincing one. The ERII is much debated imoo I think it was worn by the NY. PS I don’t like the GVIV on lugs they all seem to have turned up in the last few years and are usually a bright yellow. The regiment themselves had supply trouble and issues with the cypher at various times being badged RA.
Just my thoughts but I don’t think my views are any more or less valuable than others on here. |
